My name is Samantha Nicole and I like to look at the world through a colorful lens.
It's a lens that reveals a glimmer of a secret that introduces to the world a complete story. It's true, you know, every story did come from a speck of something. My job is to take that speck and tell its story.
To introduce to the world the story of a mother who has lost her child, or the tale of two lovers. It's to show the liveliness of a shy writer or the smile of a survivor.
I started portrait photography in 2006 at San Francisco State University. Photography was an alternative creative outlet that allowed me to connect with people on a different scale than conversation. Photography allowed me to see a much bigger picture of the world that I shared with millions of people, and through photography, I saw beauty and pain, and most importantly, I captured the moments where people let their guards down, and showed me who they really were. They were powerful, beautiful, complicated and fascinating.
I specialize in portraits that allow me to get to know my subjects so I can give them a product that they are proud and fascinated with. I work with authors, poets, musicians and models, but I also work with anyone who wants to share their story through a beautiful image.
